Welcome to Cooperative Career Education

As a student worker, you have the ability to attain high school credits, while gaining hands on experience in the work force.  Student workers leave school at 12:28pm daily, and are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, but no more then 18 hours per week.  A major portion of the students' grade is based upon their evaluation from their employer.  The employer is in constant communication with the Cooperative Education Office, and any problems, the school will hold the student accountable.  Students will learn important on-the-job skills, as well as, safety laws, labor laws, age requirements, OSHA regulations, etc.

Welcome to Medical Terminology/Billing and Coding

This course is a half year offering for those students seeking to gain a better understanding of the business side of the medical field.  In order to understand the appropriate and proper guidelines for billing and coding, students will first prep with medical terminology.  This will help them understand why certain codes are used for specific treatments.  Understanding terminology helps cross reference to ensure proper codes are being inputed into billing programs, and appropriate payments are being processed.  Students will break down terms used in the medical field, and diagnosis EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) to understand how insurances view treatments.

Tomorrow's Teachers

This course is a full year course which offers students to gain an understanding of education, the history of education, and what is necessary to become a future teacher.  Students will collaborate, create, and be lectured in new techniques, and guidelines set by the State of NJ.  This course will allow students to become informed as to what is necessary to teach, and the credentials that are necessary.  Rider University offers students to purchase 3 college credits at the end of this course, for those students who receive a grade of a B or higher.  If interested in this option students can find the documentation and registration form in the Tomorrow's Teachers link at the right and document below.

Also, I will be using my Google Drive to post documents, videos, and supplemental materials for Tomorrow's Teachers.  Please use the link at the left labeled Google Drive and view the weeks assignments and objectives we will be completing.
