Important Dates to Remember:

August 10, 2022: First Day of School 

August 31, 2022: Early Dismissal at 1:10

September 5, 2022: No School - Labor Day 

October 5, 2022: No School Yom Kippur

October 14, 2022: End of Quarter 1

 

Bell Times: 8:55-3:10 (Doors open at 8:30)

  •  Early Dismissal Days 1:10

 Breakfast: Your child must go directly to the cafeteria to get breakfast before coming to class. They will eat in the room and must finish by the 8:55 bell. Breakfast is free to all students. 

 

Lunch: Your child may pack a lunch box or go through the school lunch line for free. Please see the link to the left for the monthly menus. 

 

Binder & Planner: Your child will bring their binder & planner home daily. Please check it and sign it every day as this will be our main communication. I will check it in the morning for any notes.   In the "Bring back to school" pocket, you will find all homework and papers that need to be returned to school. In the "Keep at home" pocket, you will find all graded papers and fliers.    

 

Homework: Students will have math homework each night, it's usually the practice page from that day's math lesson. Please refer to the daily math lesson for information on how to do the assignment. They will also have either grammar or a comprehension paper to complete.  Another important part of their homework is to read their AR book for at least 20 mins.

    A.R.:

     

    First Quarter A.R. goals will soon be set for your child!  Here are some things to help them with meeting their goal:

      

    • Quality over quantity; Read the book more than once, check for understanding, and discuss it before taking a quiz
    • Take their time on the AR quizzes.  If they miss any questions, not only does it lower their average (85% required), but it also reduces the point value they receive for it. 
    • Please remember that A.R. quizzes will NOT be deleted.  One "rushed" test can slow their progress in accomplishing their goal.
    • You can check their scores and goal status by clicking here.  You will use your student's ID number for the username, and their first name initial and last name initial as the password.   You can also click at the top of the page to set up email notifications for each test your child takes :)                                    
    •  EX: username: wd14021  password: 33312345

  • Uniform: Please make sure your child is dressed in school uniform attire and colors. On Friday, students may wear this year's Diplomat Theme Shirt (Which can be purchased at the school store).

     

     

    Dismissal: For the safety of your child, I need a written note if your child is changing the way they go home at any time. Please don't write changes in your child's planner instead send in the yellow piece of paper.

  • Progress Reports: You will not receive interim report cards this year, instead you can get your student's grades online at any time.
