Welcome To Our Classroom!

Welcome to your child’s Intensive Academics classroom at Bayshore Elementary School. My name is Michael Miller and I am excited about the wonderful possibilities for learning that await our class this year.  I have 12 years of teaching experience with students from grades K-5.

Each school year brings with it, an important time for the academic and social development of your children. We will be spending considerable time this year working to build on reading, writing, and math skills.  I want your child to be happy and successful at Bayshore and believe that you play a key role. That role is to continually show interest in and support for your child. The child who knows that his or her family is interested in and supports the school program will almost always have fewer problems in school and will enjoy greater success.

I personally believe in fair and consistent discipline that encourages students to be responsible for themselves. At school, we try to create a safe environment where courtesy and kindness prevail and where there is respect for differences in other people, customs, and cultures.  Please share with me any information regarding your child’s special needs that will help me to better serve your family.  I firmly believe that communication among parents, students, and teachers is critical in assuring student success.

You will often receive notes about important events or activities throughout the year as well as information from me about what you can do at home to help your child have the best possible experience this year.  I want to encourage you to contact me whenever you have any questions or concerns about your child in my class.  If it is during school hours, please leave a message, including telephone number and best times to call and I will return your call within 24 hours.  Also, I check my e-mail frequently throughout the day so please feel free to e-mail me if that is more convenient for you at
