Dear Parents,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!
Upcoming Week:
We will be taking the CRCT all week. PLEASE make sure your child gets to school on time. They will NOT be allowed into the classroom after the second bell until after testing is complete for that morning, so it is VERY important that they get to school on time. Thank you for your help with this. Also, please make sure your child gets to bed early or on time each night so they are fully rested for testing the next day. The children will not have homework at all this week so they can get to bed on time. I know they will be sad about no homework all week! Ha! Finally, please send your child to school with two snacks this week. We will take one when we break during testing and then have the other one after testing is complete each day. I think that is all. :)
After testing each day, we will have some recess and then the rest of the time continuing our review for testing the following day.
Math: Testing and Review
Reading: Testing and Review
Spelling: There will not be a Spelling Test this week due to testing.
Grammar: Testing and Review
Writing Workshop: We will be finishing our Tiger Publishing stories.
Handwriting: The children will continue writing their work in cursive! :)

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Wow! I can't believe it is already February!
Please read the following information. I STILL have children coming to school in shorts when it is in the 30's outside. Your child will not be allowed to go outside for recess in shorts if it is too cold outside. They will have to stay in another classroom while we are outside. Thank you for your help with this! :)
1.) Students should dress appropriately for the weather. Please send your child to school with coats during the cold weather. Students will be going outside if weather permits and should have coats for that outside time. Let your child know that they need to have a coat in order to go out during our cold weather. Here is the district policy: “When the outside temperature or wind chill factor is 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below, school staff should take students outside no longer than 15 minutes. Students should wear appropriate clothing.”
2.) Our Tritt administration has recorded their first “Principals’ PAW Press”, which is a video located on the Tritt website. This is an additional communication tool that we hope is helpful. Please take the time to view it!
Upcoming Week:
On Wednesday we will go to the Computer Lab.
Math: Our focus next week will be on multi-step word problems.
Reading: We will focus on fiction text next week. We will start back with our Literature Circles and will read various chapter book. Each group will be reading a different Mystery book for their first chapter books. The children are excited to get back to our Literature Circles. We will also continue with our novel study of Mr. Popper's Penguins.
Spelling: We will complete Word Sort 20: Plural Endings: Adding -es. The children will have a Spelling Test on Friday. Please check under the Spelling Tab on my BLOG for the Spelling Words.
