Welcome!
In an effort to better communicate with both students and parents/guardians alike, I am making this webspace available for your convenience.
Homework is updated on this site within 24 hours after it is assigned. This will not only enable students to remind themselves of upcoming deadlines, it also helps families to stay informed of the class expectations.
Also, for those of us who sometimes misplace or damage an assignment, I have included uploaded files for most of the homework. This way, should an assignment go missing, you will be able to open and print the file directly from the website.
These documents and homework assignments may be accessed via the homework links found on the calendar. Just go to the "Homework and Events" page. This is located on the main menu, to the right.
While this is a basic website to give the major information, I will do my best to improve and expand upon it as I find the time.
While full course loads and a rich family life occupy my time, I try to remain as accessible as possible. Please feel free to contact me whenever necessary. I can either be reached at the scool (352) 481-1900 (sorry- I don't have a cell phone...), or via email. My email address for the school is millerra@gm.sbac.edu. Please do not hesitate to contact me should any questions/comments/concerns arise. It is always best to be proactive!
Furthermore, please bear in mind that regardless of what the homework calendar says, your child should study vocabulary nightly. Likewise, there should also be nightly reading for your child.
You can greatly support your child's learning endeavours simply by quizzing him/her using vocabulary flashmards. Vocabulary is an integral part of reading, writing, and general comprehension, and it takes multiple exposures to a word before it is retained in one's word bank. Simply by engaging in shared vocabulary practice will enrich not only your child's education, but also your own vocabulary and relationship with your child (I know it does for me).
Again, please don't be afraid to let me know how I can better assist you and your child. Have a pleasant day.
RAHM
