2009-20010 MATH CLASSES

Discovering Advanced Algebra - This course serves as a follow-up course to both Discovering Algbera and Discovering Geometry and will address HSPA prep as well.  TI-83 Plus graphing calculators are used on a daily basis and investigations are used to convey  mathematical ideas and concepts.

Algebra I -This course serves as the basic introduction to all later studies of more advanced mathematics.  TI-83 Plus graphing calculators are used on a daily basis.

 
Honors Pre-Calculus  - This accelerated course is designed to meet the needs of exceptionally able math students.  In addition to those topice normally covered in a pre-calculus course, concepts such as conic sectionas and limits will be explored.  TI-83 Plus graphing calculators are used on a daily basis and it would be beneficial to have one's own so that homework assignments may be completed more easily.  Additionally, Advanced Placement Calculus is the next course,  and a student must receive a minimum 85% in this course to move on to AP Calculus.

Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus AB - This accelerated course is designed to meet the needs of those exceptionally able math students who have demonstrated a thorough proficiency in all previous college prep or honors courses.  STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIT FOR THE AP EXAM WHICH WILL BE GIVEN ON MAY 5, 2010.  If a students passes this exam, he or she can earn 3 college credits.

I am available to all students for extra help from 7:35 am to 7:50 am and also from 2:30pm to 2:45 pm in my classroom, Room 118:
