Miss Tucker was born in Columbia, Missouri, and has lived in Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Oklahoma. She has lived in Gainesville since 1978. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Florida. She is highly qualified, holding Florida Teaching Certificates in Middle Grades Math and Elementary Education with an endorsement in reading.


Miss Tucker started teaching in 1981 at Shell Elementary School in Hawthorne. She taught fourth grade from 1982-1985 at Interlachen Elementary School. She joined the Waldo Community School Faculty in 1985 as a fifth grade teacher. She served as the Curriculum Resource Teacher (CRT) of Waldo Community School from the fall of 1994 until June, 2010. She returned to teaching in the classroom in the fall of 2010.

Having been at Waldo Community School since 1985, Miss Tucker considers it a pleasure to have worked with so many students...some of whom are now parents of students! She values the relationships and connections she has made in the Waldo area during the past. 

Miss Tucker's goal in teaching is to prepare the students of Waldo Community School to be responsible, respectful, successful citizens.
