Knowing your math facts and being able to recall them quickly are crucial to success in 5th grade mathematics. The goal for 5th grade is to be able to do 90 out of 100 facts in 3 minutes. That's about 2 seconds to know the fact and write the answer!
- Students must know all addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts through 12.
- It is helpful to have flash cards available at home, so that your children can practice. Even 5 minutes a night at home studying can have significant results over time.
Helpful hint: when drilling at home, remove cards that are already easily recalled, and focus on the facts that take the longest to come up with.
- Please find below a short list of fun websites that can also help brush up on facts. Let me know any feedback you may have, so I can keep my lists current!
