Students will earn grades via module tests, bellringers, in-class assignments, and math fluency, all of which are used to assess student knowledge and understanding. Students are also expected to utilize and complete assignments on Google Classroom on a regular basis. In addition, students will be given three benchmark tests to assess overall student learning in math. Benchmark assessments will be given at the conclusion of Modules 2 and 3 (asssessment 1), Module 1 (assessment 2), and Modules 4 and 5 (assessment 3). All module assessments and benchmark assessments will be digital.

You may check grades through the "Student Progress Center" which may be accessed through the link that I have included or through the VPSB webpage. Student math grades will be weighted this year. Module assessments will be weighted at 70% and quizzes and other assignments will be weighted at 30%.

Students are encouraged to attend school daily.  However, if a student is absent, he/she is responsible for making up any work missed. Lesson videos and daily agendas are on Google ClassroomI strongly suggest that absent students phone a friend for missed assignments and/or complete the next lesson in the module and the next bellringer. Additionally, there is an area in our classroom where make-up work may be collected upon a student's return to class. Again, it is the student's responsibility to make up any work missed.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with your child and I know that we will have much success this school year!  If you have any questions, please e-mail me at tanna[email protected], send a note, or leave a message for me in the school office (337-937-4441).

Thanks for your ongoing support of your child's education!
