Mrs. Hermansen's Class
Mrs. Hermansen's Class
Welcome! My name is Candice Hermansen and I am so excited about being your computer teacher this year! I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you. I hope you're excited as well! I will continue by telling you a little more about myself. I was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and was raised in Southlake, Texas, where my parents and sister still live. I am very lucky to have a wonderful family and I am very close to them. We often travel back to the metroplex to visit on weekends. Thank goodness for Southwest Airlines! In November of 2006, I married my college sweetheart, Charles, and moved to Houston because of his career as an ocean engineer. In February of 2009, our daughter, Lainey, was born. In April of 2011, we were blessed with a baby boy, Charlie. God is good!
I attended college at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Whoop! Gig em Ags! My husband and I are big Aggie fans and usually spend a few weekends per year in College Station with friends attending football and basketball games. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading, traveling, and working in my yard. I feel I was called into the teaching profession. I come from a long line of educators. My mom, aunts, and sister are educators as well as my mother in law and numerous cousins. I feel blessed to be employed by Grace School doing what I love to do. As my parents said while I was growing up, "Choose a profession that you love and it won't be work." I feel very blessed that my job as a teacher is not simply work, but also an extremely enjoyable passion. I have taught both elementary and middle school in Southlake Carroll ISD, in Fort Bend ISD and at Grace School. This will be my ninth year in education and my fourth year at Grace School. I look forward to another amazing year filled with challenging instruction, social and spiritual growth and many fun filled days in the Lower School Computer Lab!
