TI-30X II S or B (***not multi-view)

For Algebra 2 and PreCalculus (Advanced Math and Trigonometry), the TI-30X II S or B (solar or battery, color does not matter,***multi-view is not permissible) will be the primary calculator. In the classroom, the TI-30X II S or B (***not multi-view) are the only calculator models allowed. I have a classroom set so it is not necessary to bring your own. If you wish to purchase your own, the TI-30X II S or B (***not multi-view) runs between $9.00 and $15.00. Be sure to shope the back to school specials!

Graphing calculators will be used on occasion. I have a classroom set that will be used on those occasions.

Why is the TI-30X II S or B (***multi-view is not permissible) the only calculator allowed? Specific skills will be taught and tested. Some skills can be performed by some calculators, rather than worked out by the student. These skills are required by state community colleges and universities that, currently, either do not allow calculators or only allow the TI-30X II S or B (***multi-view is not permissible). These skills will be a necessity to succeed in math courses in higher education. It is not fair for one student to have a calculator that does the work and another have to manually work it out. Since the community colleges and universities require it be worked out, students in my class will have to demonstrate manual mastery of these skills.

For all tests and quizzes, only my classroom calculators can be used.
