U.S. History
Welcome to 8th grade U.S. History class! This year we will be learning about a number of exciting topics from early settlement to the Civil War. We will also work toward answering higher-level essential questions like "Why do we study history?" As we learn about historical events, we will develop skills such as writing, map reading, and critical thinking. In order to do these things and to better remember the history we learn (sometimes it all runs together in our heads, doesn't it?) we will engage in many different activities. This means traditional classroom study, but also performing skits, listening to period music, writing journal entries pretending to be historical figures, re-enacting famous events and much more.
To help further our studies, I have created this website which should assist you in remembering homework and doing a little extra reading with some helpful online links.
