Thanks you so much for the wonderful gifts that were given to me for the holiday.  I truly appreciate the thought.  I hope that each and everyone had a wonderful and restful holiday.

Well,  the time has gone by quickly and it is now 2013.  Time to hit the ground running.

Please continue to check your child's agenda book every night. This is the best way to ensure communication between parent and teacher.

Your child should also be coming home Monday through thursday with Math homework.  your child can be receiving one of two items for homework.  He/she could have a weekly worksheet to be completed nightly or he/she may have a workbook page assigned.  The "pw" that is in the agenda stands for practice workbook.  Homework should be written in your child's agenda.  If not please feel free to check the homework section on my web page.

Please make sure that your child is completing his or her own homework.  Homework is used to help access your child's strengths and weaknesses.  I encourage you to work with your child to complete the assignment.

 Week in review:

3rd grade Math:

We are working on measurement.  This past week we were able to see how using the same units is important.  We were also able to make our own rules that we will use throughout our measurement unit.

4th grade math

This past week we worked on last month calendar pieces.  We worked on the concept of fraction of a whole.  We will continue to work on this and will have a quiz early next week.

5th grade pull out math:

This past week we have worked on reviewing some concepts that were confusing at the end of the last 9 weeks.  We will continue to work on multiplying fraction by fractions, fraction with whole numbers and introduce division fraction by a whole number using models.
