Welcome to Middle School Technology Explo!

 

 

In today's classroom, computers and the world-wide web are effective tools for supporting student's learning of content and essential for developing creative and critical thinkers.

 

6th Grade Technology: Classes meet daily during 4th period for one marking period. We are currently working in Google Sketchup creating 3D models, an architectureal scene utilizing a chair, lathed object and table the students made in the 1st weeks of the marking period.

 

7th Grade Technology: Classes meet daily during 2nd period for one marking period. We are currently working with the Microsoft Publisher program to create an original brochure and business card. Students are to create a fictional business they call there own and incorporate current marking tools, such as QR codes, Facebook logos, Twitter Logos, and other social networking links. Students are to summarize how their business operates, their position in the company and what their product or services are.

 

8th Grade Technology: Classes met daily during 3rd period for one marking period. Students are working on 2D cartoons utilizing Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Power Point and Audacity. Come back to my website soon to view some student samples!

 
 
www.typingweb.com: Mackinnon Middle School implements a keyboarding software program free for students to use at school or home. This program can be accessed from home by the students for additional practice. It only takes a few minutes to log on free from the internet. This program enables students to work towards improving their speed and accuracy of keyboarding. typingweb.com is PC and Mac compatiable.
