Welcome to Mrs. McCary's Statistics or College Readiness Courses!
Welcome Students!
I look forward to a great year with all of you. For both courses, there are some general things that you will need to know.
1. All homework is posted under the homework and events column on the right of the screen.
2. The syllabus that you must have in your binder, signed by your parent, is also one of the tabs. Just click on it, open it up, and then print it, get your parent or guardian to sign it, and then keep it in your binder/folder.
3. We will be using TI- 84 plus or TI-nSpire Calculators in Statistics both semesters and We will not be using calculators at home or at school for the 1st Semester in the College Readiness Course to help prepare you for the end of the year test.
4. All bellwork should be started at the beginning of the class for the 1st 5 minutes. We will switch papers and grade it on a daily basis. This is for a grade.
5. All homework is due the next day of class. See the syllabus and the expectations that you and your parent/guardian had to sign.
6. To have the privelage to leave the room, you must sign out and then sign in to class with your full name and destination and times.
7. All projects are due on or before the due date, with no exceptions.
8. We will be using Cornell notes in this class. Notes will be graded and used for some quizzes.
9. We will have to take a pretest at the beginning of the quarter and a post-test at the end of the year.
10. For the College Readiness Course, homework is 20 percent of your grade and tests and quizzes are 80 percent of your grade.
11. For the Statistics Course, homework is 10 percent of your grade and tests and quizzes are 90 percent of your grade.
12. If you are in Dual Enrollment for Statistics, and you feel that you need to drop the course, for whatever reason, the drop deadline is in March. Please contact me and the college so that we can drop the grade for college credit. There is a deadline listed on the SCF website.
13. The goal for all of us is for all to do well.
Best Wishes for the year,
