Words their Way - Spelling Program

Dear Parents,

Each week students are given spelling words with patterns specialized to their needs from a holistic spelling assessment.  Each lesson builds upon the previous.  Though in some instances the words themselves may seem easy; it is the spelling rule or pattern that the student needs to learn and incorporate into their writing.  Students are responsible to study their words and complete the tic-tac-toe assignments for homework to give them practice with their words.

In class: Students are given their words.  They are to copy their words in their agenda and cut and sort their words and create a table in their word work notebook showing the spelling pattern of the week.
