WELCOME BACK!

 

Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Alyssa Monaco. I am your child’s Second Grade teacher, at Greenville School.  I am excited to be working with you and your child!

 

Second Grade is an important year for your child to advance academically and socially. Your child will accomplish a great deal by the end of the year!  Please encourage your child to read, write, and practice math facts daily. 

 

We will focus on Character Education this year by developing “good character traits” and “making good choices”.  Our class will build respectful, cooperative, honest, friendly, patient, happy, generous, and caring classmates.  One of our class goals will be to construct a peaceful environment where all children get along and accept each other’s differences.  

 

We will work on a Leadership Program, along with a Social Program throughout the year.  Each child will become a leader and recognizes the leader in themselves and others.  Also, as each child visits our “Kindness Café” they will learn and practice social skills. 

 

Let us work together as a team to build a wonderful school year!  I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Back-to-School Night!

Daily Snack

 

We will have a small daily “working” snack in the classroom.  This snack is separate from the one you may send in for lunch. It must be a PEANUT/NUT FREE snack.  The snack must be something your child can eat and clean up on their own, in less than 10 minutes while they are working.  No extra drink.  They can drink from their water bottle.
