Welcome to Grade 5! I hope you are all excited about the start of a new school year and are ready to jump right in! In our Science class, we will be taking a fresh look at science through the use of investigations, activities, and explorations. Topics that will be covered this year include, engineering and technology, energy and matter, systems in space, Earth's systems, and earth and human activities.
In our Social Studies class, with an emphasis on diversity and multiple perspectives, we will learn about America's past as well as our role in government. We will also discuss current events and learn how to identify viewpoints.
For both courses, we will utilize online interactive textbooks as well as physical textbooks and workbooks. Educational websites like www.ixl.com, www.clever.com, www.kahoot.com ,www.blooket.com and www.nearpod.com will also be incorporated to reinforce and extend learning.
Please remember that we are all in this together. Your thoughts, questions, and concerns are important to me. Please do not hesitate to reach out. Here's to a great school year!
