Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First grade will learn about famous
artist and their work. They will also use illustrations from our favorite literature as examples of works of art. The students learn to analyze and interpret what they see, connect it to facts about the artist, and then synthesize their understanding into their own anesthetic opinion.

Second, Third, and Fourth Grade will
continue to learn about artists and

assess works of art. They will look at our artistic examples through the eyes of the people who make it. Then they will formulate their anesthetic responses in both writing and artistic forms of expression.

Third and Fourth Grade will have the opportunity to select Art Workshops in Mastery Enrichment. In addition to that, I have created ART Recess during the 3rd and 4th grade lunch block. Students can come to the art room during recess to

pursue a creative idea, work on their project, or seek artistic support for an assignment.

Mastery Enrichment

The 3rd and 4th grade students will have the oportunity to sign up for workshops offered once a week in Art during their Mastery Enrichment period.  I will be offering projects dealing with recycled and leftover materials, Art Journals, and Special focus on our favorite artists, just to name a few.

ART Recess

Every day during 3rd and 4th grade recess the art room will be open to students who want to create.  Students can experiment with artistic medium and original ideas or work on art class projects if they desire extra time.  I can also help with illustrations for an assignment in annother class.

The students sign up for Open Recess that morning in home room.  Once
on the list they must attend that day, unless their teacher needs them for another activity.  The list is only for that school day.  If a student wants to sign up for the following day they will tell their teacher.  Students' do not have to attend Open Recess every day.  It is an optional free time choice. ons for other assignments such as a drawing for a poster or independent study.
