Dear Pre-K Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Hamburg Public School. We are very excited to have your Pre-Kindergartener in our classrooms. This year is going to be a special year for us all, and open lines of communication are going to help us ensure that everything runs smoothly. The Pre-K years are an important time in a child’s life as students learn not only the foundational skills for academic success, but also build a love of learning and form friendships that often last a lifetime. This school year will be filled with wonderful experiences for all of our Pre-K friends.
We will be hosting a Pre-Kindergarten Meet and Greet. Once we have more details, we will share the information with you. We hope that you will be able to join us for this event, as students will have an opportunity to meet their teachers and see their classrooms. If you have not already completed the “All About Me” page from your registration packet, please bring it with you to our Meet and Greet.
Class Tag will be the program used throughout the school year as our primary method of communication. Information about how to join our Class Tag will be forthcoming.
Your child is going to need a few supplies on hand for school. Your child will need the following items for school:
- A backpack large enough to fit an 8.5” x 11” folder inside2 Pocket folder for daily communicationsA complete set of clothing, including socks and sneakers (in a Ziploc bag) - sneakers will remain at school
- 2 healthy snacks, 2 drinks and a lunch daily (reusable and leakproof non-metal water bottle). An option to purchase the school breakfast and lunch is available for all students.
- Any personal hygiene items needed by your child (diapers, flushable wipes, etc)
- A preschool nap mat (bed roll with pillow and velcro closure tabs)
Please make sure that ALL items are labeled clearly with your child’s name. It is also important that your child is wearing socks and sneakers or other secure footwear each day for safety reasons. We are very active throughout our day, including outdoor play (weather permitting) and gross motor skills. Please note that sport sandals and boots are not permitted. In addition, please have your child wear shorts underneath any dresses or skirts that are worn.

Should you need to contact us for any reason, there are many ways to reach us. We can communicate through Class Tag, e-mail, by phone, or we can schedule meetings as needed.
