February is here! There are so many exciting things going on this month! We will be celebrating black history month all month long, Valentine's day on the 14th, and the 100th day of school on the 15th. Our character trait for this month is responsibility. We will be talking about how we can be responsible at home and in the classroom.
Our STEAM lab has all new centers. Our centers include kinetic sand, bee bots, straws and connectors, scratch paper and wooden sticks, and OSMO connect numbers.
In Math we are working on subtraction. We will be practicing subtraction number sentences and be introduced to the minus symbol. Students will also get to tell their own subtraction stories in class. Be sure to practice addition and subtraction at home. You may draw pictures or use objects for counters to help solve the addition and subtraction problems.
In Literacy we are focusing on Technology at home and school. Our essential question for Unit 5 is why do we use technology? We will be talking about this throughout our unit.
