I am pleased to be working as your reading coach this year.  I come to you with 30 years of experience as an educator, a master's degree in elementary education and a reading specialist certification.  I am also certified as a student teaching supervisor and a mentor/assessor.  Reading has always been at the heart of my teaching experience since 28 of my school years have been spent in first grade.  My goal as a coach is to provide support and assistance to teachers as they work with their students to achieve literacy through reading instruction and intervention. Feel free to contact me at rbarbier@acadia.k12.la.us if you have any questions or concerns.
