I. The Elementary music program offers the following instruction:
A. Orff-Schulwerk and Kodaly teaching methods
B. Musical games
C. Singing
D. Reading standard music rhythms and notation in the treble clef
E. Recorder skills begin in third grade.
F. Graded choirs are offered for first, second, and third graders in the fall / winter.
II. The Intermediate music program offers the following instruction:
A. Yamaha MIE (Music In Education) piano keyboard lab
B. Symphony Orchestra / Composers
C. UIL Music Memory
D. Singing
E. Writing / reading standard rhythms and notation in the treble clef
F. Recorders / Orff Instruments
G. Recorder/Orff Group is offered for fourth and fifth graders in the fall/winter.
H. Graded choirs are offered for fourth and fifth graders in the fall/winter.
I. Auditioned choir is offered for fourth and fifth graders in the spring.
J. Guitar group lessons are offered for fifth graders in the spring.
Students provide their own guitar.
