Class focus: Reading with the brain(focus on thinking, not just repeating words) and vocabulary expansion.

Seventh graders can say the words in reading material (for the most part), but because they aren't thinking or interacting with the text, their comprehension suffers. I will attempt to make them better readers by focusing on active reading.  We will also use journal writing as a means of expanding their vocabulary.
