WELCOME BACK!!!

This year looks to be the best year yet and I am very excited to be back.  Some seventh and eighth grade students will see me at Middle School teaching Music Appreciation.  I will be teaching all 6th graders general music on "the hill" and then return to Huntsville Intermediate to teach third, fourth and fifth grade every afternoon.  In this year's schedule, there will not be enough time in the day to continue my 4th, 5th and 6th grade choir programs but there will be many other opportunities for performance throughout the year in each classroom.

Our first unit in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th will be patriotic music.  Students will receive copies of the lyrics to many of our most precious melodies.  All students will be required to memorize the STAR SPANGLED BANNER.  Please look in your child's notebook for their expectations. 

During the 1st nine weeks, 7th Grade will be studying careers in music in my classroom and 8th grade will be read biographies and completing listening logs for two composers of the Classical period of music: Haydn and Mozart .  Tests will be given from notes taken during class.

Every student in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th will receive a copy of the music room rules, grading guidlines and expectations.  These need to be signed and returned to school by the 1st week in September.  I am looking forward to a fun, exciting and successful year at school!
