Class Description... Speech classes are designed to teach students how to communicate effectively in all verbal and non-verbal situations. They will learn how to Interview and how to be Interviewed, how to use the telephone properly, how to be an effective Listener, how to research, and how to speak in Formal and Non-Formal situations.

Drama: Drama is designed to teach students every aspect of the acting/theater process. They will learn the history of Drama, all stage terminology, stage positions, blocking, stage make-up, costuming, lights, sound, acting skills, and vocal projection.

Forensics: Forensics is a competitive acting class. The students learn how to perform Individual Events at Forensic Tournaments throughout Arkansas. They learn how to perform Poetry, Mime, Oratory, Extemperaneous speaking, Duet and Solo performances as well as write a Reader's Theater and a Words and Music for groups. They also will learn how to research for the National Debate Topic and then Debate other teams.

Classroom Rules: 
1. No chewing gum, eating, or drinking (water is exception) in class.
2. No using my room as a locker.
3. Bring book to class every day.
4. No leaving class to go to locker, bathroom (except in extreme emergency), office, or another classroom.
5. Be on time...will give d-hall after 3 tardies.
6. Be respectful of school property, each other, and "me".
7. All verbal and nonverbal language must be appropiate. 

Grading Policy: 90-100=A, 80-89=B, 70-79=C, 60-69=D, 59 and below=F--(also see handbook).

                        Speech-8:56-9:46, 9:52-10:42, 10:48-11:38, 1:39-2:29-----2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th period
                        Forensics-2:35-3:25-----7th period
                        Prep-12:43-1:33-----5th period
