I'm looking forward to a great school year. All of the English classes will focus on writing as well as reading this year. We will be conducting a writer's workshop where students write about what they want to for most of the class one day a week. It is designed to help students become comfortable with writing. Research shows that when students are allowed to write about what they want, that they write more and for longer periods of time. The combination of the Writer's Workshop and the Reading Program, already in place from last year, will ensure that students are reading and writing extensively. We hope that it's the best year yet for English!
