Dear Parents,
It’s beginning to feel a lot like the Winter Holidays around school these days! The boys and girls are excited, and so are the teachers and staff! We all are looking forward to celebrating the holidays and having some time with our families and friends, just as you are.
Please remind your children that there are many fun events next week for those boys and girls who maintain their excellent Wiles manners and who complete their work each and every day. We hate to have students miss the special times at school but work does come first.
Our fourth graders will present “The Nutcracker” next Thursday, December 15 at 7:00 PM for family and friends. You won’t want to miss this extraordinary event. We have presented “The Nutcracker” for years and years as our holiday gift to you. We know you will love seeing your fourth grader on stage, singing and dancing under the able direction of our Music teachers, Ms. Olson and Mr. Duke. Earlier that same day, fourth grade will see a presentation of “The Nutcracker” at the Performing Arts Center. They will have quite a day next Thursday!
Our Chorus and Orffans will present their annual Holiday Concert for you on Tuesday, December 13. This outstanding program will begin at 7:00. Be sure to join us for a wonderful program. The boys and girls have been rehearsing just for you!
On Friday, December 16, we will administer the Flu Mist to students who missed the first dose and to those previously participating students who have never had two doses before. Of course, we must have your permission on file in the office to do this. I know that sounds confusing so if you have questions, please call our nurse, Ms. Wilhoit.
Third grade has a field trip Friday, December 16 to the Florida Museum of Natural History. We will administer their Flu Mist first.
You can see what a busy week it will be! And I haven’t even mentioned the Holiday Parties that many classes will enjoy! Thanks for your help with all these events. The teachers and I appreciate you more than you know!
Meanwhile, the Academic Focus for the week is Inference/Drawing Conclusions in Reading and Number Sense in Mathematics. Our academic program continues in full force right through next Friday!
Happy Holidays to you and your family from all of the teachers and staff at our wonderful school! School begins again on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:45 sharp. Remember – no school on Monday that week.
Sincerely,
Barbara Buys
Principal
