Welcome back!!!! 

What a change from last year!  We have so many new faces, so many names to learn, new places to see and explore, and there is so much excitement in the air!  Working together we are going to make Sallie Humble the best school in the district!!!!

I will be your child's Science teacher this year.  I am honored to be a part of the team of super 4th grade teachers. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you to give your child the best education possible.  

Science is a fun time for your child.  We do lots of hands-on activities to see how the world works.  We will be doing several projects that will need to be worked on outside the classroom as well. I give a study guide for each weekly test.  That is the material your child is expected to know.  Please read over this with your child each night in order to prepare for the test.  Test dates are announced in advance.  Each week I give a Daily Science Quiz.  Worksheets are passed out on Monday and we fill them in each day in class.  The test will consist of the information on the worksheet plus review of skills from previous worksheets.  These questions are directly linked to the skills your child will need to know for the LEAP Test. Daily Science tests are on Thursday each week.

Fourth grade is a very important year for you and your child.  We will be  working hard to prepare for the LEAP Test which will be taken in two parts.   The first part will be in March and will be ELA and Math Constructed Response and Essay.  The rest will be in given in April.  Please check your child's assignment book nightly for any homework that is due.  There is also a place for you to write notes to the teacher and for us to write you back.  We need your help in making this a successful year for all.
