 As a Special Services Teacher I work with all the students to improve their self-concept, their literacy skills with reading, language, and writing, and their math skills of number concepts, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing as they become emerging readers and growing math literate students.
Although I love math and reading, Science is truly my favorite subject because it includes all other subjects:  math, reading, English, art, social studies, and physical education.  What other class can you attend and have to measure, calculate, summarize, write explanations, record data, illustrate observations, study the history of various living and non-living things, or run in place on any given day in order to carry out the procedures for the class activities?  Science allows students to use knowledge acquired in all other subjects. 
SCHOOL IS A VERB!  Get involved!  Investigate!  Inquire!  Experience!  Examine!  Try It Out!  Observe!  Explain!  Illustrate!  Demonstrate!  Ask What If!  Read, Read, Read!  Do Math--Measure, Estimate, Average, Record Data!
ALL LEARNING IS FUN! 
Parents, please get involved with your child's learning experiences. Help them to enjoy the adventure of acquiring and using reading and math skills to become productive students and successful adults in the future! 
READ with your child!  Let them see you read!  LET THEM DO THEIR HOMEWORK!
