CLASS MATERIALS & ESSENTIAL POLICIES

 

ALL ENGLISH CLASSES MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING TO CLASS DAILY:

  • 1.5 Inch Binder with dividers.  Instructions for setting up binders will be given once classes are in session. 
  • Lined notebook paper
  • Black or Blue ink pens
  • Highlighters: Yellow, Blue
  • Personal stapler  
  • Personal 3-hole punch
  • 1 Box of Tissues 

 


EQUIPMENT & USAGE POLICIES

CELL PHONE POLICIES: PHONE CONFISCATION & PRIVACY VIOLATIONS

  • Phones must be put away completely before sitting down for class. Phones will be collected on sight.  If a student needs to use a phone, the student must ask permission and provide a very good reason.

  • Students are not allowed to record myself, items in my classroom, or their classmates when inside of my classroom. This includes taking pictures of myself or others without written permission.  Doing so will result in disciplinary action.

CHROMEBOOKS & USAGE POLICIES

  • Google Classroom & Remind are required learning technology provided free of charge by Neville.
  • Students must not delete Chromebook search history for the duration of the 2025-2026 school year. Doing so will constitute a violation of Mr. Donn's usage policy and may warrant disciplinary action. 
  • Students may NOT use personal laptaps or tablets in Mr. Donn's classroom unless allowed by 504 accommodations.
  • Students must Google Docs for all word processing assignments in Mr. Donn's classes, unless stated otherwise
  • Students will be required to use Google Slides, Google Drive, Kami, and other features of Google Classroom. 

 

PLAGIARISM, INVASION OF PRIVACY, & COMMERCIAL THEFT 

  • Unauthorized access, storage or use of another person's private data or online accounts, whether academic or personal, is an invasion of privacy and may constitute grounds for legal action. This includes any other person's private date, pictures, or account information for which the user has not been given, in writing, express permision to use.  

  • Unauthorized access, storage or use of another person's private data or online accounts, whether academic or personal, is THEFT. 
    • Academic Theft: Use of  academic information belonging to another individual (student, teacher, staff, or persons online) without permission or appropriate credit is academic theft and fraud--aka PlagiarismGrade penalties and disciplinary action will be taken against students who plagiarize. This includes in unauthorized use of AI programs to complete assignments. 

    • Identity Theft: Use of of data, information, or financial goods belonging to another individual is identity theft at the very least, and will be pursued on those grounds. 

 

CONTACT & CONFERENCE PROTOCOL
PARENTS & GUARDIANS - PLEASE READ

 

  • Students are not allowed to contact a teacher through personal email. For this reason, only parents and guardians may reach me at [email protected].

  • This year part of my duties include intinerate work at another location; I am not on Neville campus after 2:30 pm daily.  For this reason, whenever possible please use email for questions and conferencing. 

  • If an in-person conference is required, please set up an official Parent-Teacher Conference through Neville's main office: 318-323-2237, Dial "1" at the prompt.  I can meet for an in-person conference during 1st period on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
