Welcome to an exciting year of new adventures!!  My name is Jennifer Hughes and I am an ELA teacher at Carroll High School. This is my fourth year at Carroll High school and my 20th year as an educator in Monroe City Schools.  I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling.  I am looking forward to an excellent year and I am happy to have you in my class!

. I am committed to my students that are in person or virtual. This year will be a learning experience for both student and teacher and we will get through this together! Please read the following information so you may fully understand the content, goals, expectations, and procedures for my classes and myself. 
Student Expectations: 
1) be on time;
2) have required materials
3) complete all assignments
4) have a positive attitude towards self, others, and work
5) respect all property in the classroom and belonging to others
Teacher Expectations: 
1)  promote student's academic progress as well as further students' social, emotional, and moral development and to safeguard students' health and well-being.
2)  regular communication, group emails, phone calls, Google classroom, live Zoom / Google Meet discussions, etc. will be used to maintain student-teacher relationships and support learning.
4)  have a positive attitude toward self, others, and work
5)  respect that all students learn differently and provide lessons that challenge and meet students needs
