Two more weeks until Florida Writes.  Please encourage your child to do their best : )
       
Please take the time to look at your child's binder and sign it in the Saturday/Sunday area.  I may have a note to you in that section. Check to see that they have been writing down their assignments. This will model that it is important to be organized : )

What we will be up to:

Math:  This year some of my students will be going to Ms. Austin or Ms. Vellake  for math and some of Ms. Austin's students will come to me.  If your child goes to Ms. Austin or Ms. Vellake please check with them directly if you have any questions.

My Math Group:  We will begin studying Measurement the week of 1/26/10.
 ******* Please work with your child if they do not know there "times tables" to 12.  It will make all the things we will be working on easier if they know there basic multiplication facts.



Social Studies:
Fourth grade Social Studies consists of the study of Florida and its history. 
We will begin Chapter 5, "Statehood for Florida", the week of 1/5/10.

Reading:  Please check with your child's reading teacher for any questions.
 
Spelling:  Spelling will be given weekly.  Homework goes home on Friday and is due the following Monday. 

Writing:  Florida Writes is fast approaching.  We will be practicing both Expository and Narrative essay writing in January as we prepare for the big day.

**Please call for a conference whenever you feel it is needed.  I am very flexible about times. I'll call you if I feel we need to touch base.
