In Writing, we will review Narrative and Expository styles of writing on Monday and then on Tuesday, February 9th, we will take the FCAT Writing Test. Please be sure your student gets a good night sleep, a good breakfast, and arrives at school on time with a positive attitude about the test. We have prepared for this and now it's time for students to "Show what they know!" I am very proud of their level of readiness and positive attitudes.
This week in Reading students will read Unit 5.3. Our comprehension skill is Compare & Contrast. Our vocabulary words for the week are: . Because of the FCAT Testing time (8:15 - 9:00) We will only have three days for reading class this week. We will not, therefore, have spelling words this week. Students will have reading handouts for homework.
In Math class, students will begin our study on Measurement, both customary and metric, while we continue to review key concept. We will focus decoding word problems during our morning work. Please check homework daily:o)
In Science this week, we will complete our studies about Changes to Earth's Surface, Chapter 9. Students will complete interactive booklets that will then become their study guide. Their Chapter 9 Test questions will come from the interactive booklets we completed together in class.
