student learning. The goal of the program is to provide resources to our students who are classified so
they can learn at their optimal rate. The Learning Laboratory is innovative because of the programs
developed by the faculty, the range of assistive technology, the precise prescriptive nature of the
instruction, and the management of student information.
The program is coordinated by Mr. Lansing Holman and is funded by the Mine Hill Board of Education. Mr. Holman has designed a vast range of assistive technology resources that addresses virtually all learning differences. The Learning Laboratory is equipped with a myriad of specialized programs,
designed to assist students in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies and science the goal is
to improve student learning by precisely identifying their learning needs and prescribing assistive
technology to meet the need of the student. As a result, students will be better prepared for their transition to the next level.
The program utilizes the top product lines of the assistive technology industry such as Kurzweil,
Kidspiration, Inspiration and Start-To-Finish reading books. There are few if any elementary schools
