Welcome to the speech-language web site. Your child may be referred for a speech-language evaluation by a teacher or a parent. If you are concerned or have any questions about your child's speech and language development, please feel free to contact me at 973-366-0590 x213.
If your child is presently enrolled in the speech-language program they receive their speech homework on their first class session of the week and they have a week to complete the assignment. On their second class session we have “GAME DAY” where each child practices their specific sounds or language program through game format. Your child is expected to practice that assignment at least 4 different days and you are requested to sign that assignment to show that you practiced with your child. Your child should not do their homework independently as they need your feedback to assure they are producing the correct sound, using words correctly, or following directions appropriately.
If your child is absent their homework will be checked at their next speech class and the new work will be given on that day. They may always practice past assignments and your child will receive credit for doing homework.
