Dear Students and Parents,

WELCOME TO SECOND GRADE! I am so glad to share this year with you. Second grade is very special and we are going to have a wonderful time getting to know each other and learning many exciting things.


READING/LANGUAGE ARTS

Theme 1: COUNT ON ME
In this theme we will read stories about friends and the  wonderful times we share together.


SPELLING : TEST every Friday
 First Spelling Test will be on September 10th.

MATH: "Math is something to see and touch, move and change. It is something to manipulate in your hands as well as in your mind."

Unit 1: NUMBERS AND ROUTINES

In this unit, children will be reacquainted with the daily routines of Everyday Mathematics.


Please encourage your child to practice math facts every night.


Social Studies:
Students will review the Classroom and Homework Rules and we'll discuss What is a Good Citizen?




Reminders:

***Please make sure your child is at school on time

***Please sign Agenda Book every night

***Encourage your child to bring his/her school supplies
