These courses help students obtain success in life. They are given assignments that they must complete in the proper way using different art supplies and computer programs. Their grade is based on completion of the work in the allotted time with all of the assigned elements included.
In the Art course the students learn to be observant, be creative, have control, complete assignments, enjoy art, express themselves, notice history, use many tools, explore different cultures & societies, explore different careers and have fun. By opening the mind to different kinds of art, you expand a person’s perspective of the world and what is in it. We need art because it teaches us how to live with mystery. It helps expand our minds. It helps us to express the inexpressible.
We learn so much from what we see yet the only subject that instructs students in observation is the visual art field. As we look around us we cannot, but see many things that were design by artists. It is a proven fact that students that have the arts get better college exam scores and usually are a success in the world.
My computer course will help the students with many life skills. They will learn to brainstorming, learn new vocabulary, learn language arts, learn to do research, make reports, do mail merge, design and make brochures, newsletters, make bibliographies, create spreadsheets, learn about the stock market, do math, make presentations, charts, learn science, create autobiographies, learn history, make computer graphics, web pages, computer animations, and use many computer programs. Our students will learn Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and OneNote. Our students will learn Adobe products: Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash.
