Late/Absent Policy for 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Students:
You are expected to do your work to the best of your ability. Handwriting, spelling and neatness counts.
If you come unprepared for class, forgetting your book, notebook, folder, pen or pencil you lose 5 points.
If you forget your homework and bring it in the next day, you lose 10 points. If you don't bring it in, it's a zero added to your work average.
If your work is handed in late, there is an automatic 10 point deduction. Remember to bring it in at the regular class time, not at the end of the day. If late, an assignment earning 100% will only receive a 90%.
If you lose your worksheet and need another, there will be a 10 point deduction.
If you doodle on or dirty your paper in any way there will be a 10 point deduction.
If you are absent from school, or absent from your social studies class for any reason (visit to nurse, band, student council meeting., etc.), YOU are responsible to find out what you missed. Call a friend to find out what you missed in class, and ask about homework assignments too.
Decide in September on 2 classwork/homework buddies, get their phone numbers and put them in a safe place.
When you miss a quiz or test you have two days to reschedule at lunch recess to make it up.
When absent 1 day, you have 1 day to make up the work, absent 2 days, you have two days, etc.
If there is a medical or family emergency, and you cannot get your work completed, a note from your parent will be sufficient to get an extra day to finish your work.
BE READY TO DO YOUR BEST! I LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR OF LEARNING TOGETHER.
