Terese McCormick

Teacher:  Math 8 (Honors) and Math 8 Challenge

Education:
I graduated in 1996 from Nicholls State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. I have furthered my education by attending Math Conferences and workshops throughout the state. In April 2002, I represented the parish at the National Math Conference in Las Vegas. At these conferences and workshops, I have learned innovative ways to teach math concepts to students. I have also facilitated Math workshops in our parish. During the 2003-2004 school year, I completed LaSIP Math Training at Nicholls State University. The focus of the course was to learn the most up-to-date teaching techniques and strategies for middle school math.  In the spring of 2005, I took the PRAXIS for Middle School Math and achieved a score that deems me HIGHLY QUALIFIED in the state of Louisiana. During the 2006 through 2008 school terms, I was selected and participated in a pilot program for the state call Bridge to Algebra.   My goal is to have each student learn in a positive learning environment and to teach them how to apply all math skills previously taught.
