“Language opens worlds.”
(This quote is the motto of the Klingon Language Institute.)
My mission is to help students discover that language and language study will open worlds for them.
Consider this Indian proverb: “Tell me a fact, and I’ll learn. Tell me a truth, and I’ll believe. But tell me a story, and it will live in my heart forever.”
Even students who are not passionate about language study need strong language skills (reading, writing, listening, and viewing) to explore and communicate their passions and discoveries in other areas – whether those shared ideas are in science, math, technology, or diplomacy. I believe that society as a whole benefits when we share our strengths, our insights, our visions, and our accomplishments.
My passion for language study has opened a world of professional satisfaction for me and allowed me to pursue my life-long love of learning.
