**WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL** 
I want to welcome each of you to Franklinton Junior High School.  I have an exciting math-filled year planned for each of you that will include many exciting activities.  We will be covering a great deal of material this year, but you will SUCCEED and have fun at the same time!  I look forward to a wonderful year as you and I explore the exciting world of mathematics.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL BE DOING THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF SCHOOL:
We will start with Unit One which begins with a review of multiplication and division.  Be sure to start reviewing all of your facts.  We will then move on to powers and exponents.  Once we have mastered these skills, it is on to Unit 2 which deals with decimals, fractions, and percents.  We will work on Unit 2 for about eight to nine weeks.

SUPPLIES FOR 6th GRADE CLASSES:

Notebook or 3-ring binder--You can "share" a binder with other classes.  I don't mind.
Mechanical Pencils, Pencils, Pencils!
Scissors
Highlighter
Colored Pencils, Markers, or Crayons
Roll of Paper Towel and Box of Kleenex (Give to your first hour class only)
