Ms. Simpson and Mrs. Ginn’s Class
Language Arts:
This week we read many books about families. We talked about how our families are special to us. We reviewed what the title of a book is and how we take care of books. We learned about the letter Mm and Ss. We will continue to learn about Ss and the letter Aa next week. We will continue to work on rhyming words next week. In small groups we are focusing on individual student needs. For example, if your child knows all the letters and sounds we are moving on to making words. If they know all the letters, but not the sounds we will work on letter sounds with them. We are also starting to work in our writing journals.
Math: In math we will continue to learn all about the numbers 5-10. This means that we learn what place it holds, how many it shows etc. We will also continue to use our calendar notebooks. The kids have done a great job getting into our calendar routines.
