Hello, and welcome to my webpage. My name is Tracy Dorsey.  I graduated from South Terrebonne High School in 1988. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and my Master's degree from Nicholls State University.

Here you will find assignments and project information.  For daily assignments and test information click on the Homework & Events link. The Owl at Purdue site is great for anything that deals with the rules of written composition and grammar; just look at the navigation section to the right of the page for more topics.

The students' textbook is also available online; just click on the Writer's Choice Online link to the right. On the left hand side of the screen, scroll to the bottom where it says Page Navigator and click there. Then, just find the assigned page number and click it for it to come up.

Grades are given from essays, tests, writing folder contents, and homework.  Terrebonne Parish school board grading policy states that in English essays are worth 75% of a student’s grade; everything else is 25%. All essays are done during class time (there may be a few exceptions); this includes the research paper. Students who miss class during essay composition need to make sure that they come in during the 2nd half of lunch recess to write the essay.  The rubric used to grade essays in class and the one on the LEAP test is linked on the right.

There is a link on the left to Terrebonne Parish School District Libraries Online. Click there to get access to Ebscohost (an online database - gives access to current newspaper and magazine articles) and Worldbook Online (an online encyclopedia).  Check your student's agenda for the user name and password.

Parents, if you have any questions about your student's performance or would like to set up a conference, please call the school at (985) 549-5886. You can also e-mail me at school; my e-mail address is tracydorsey@tpsd.org.
