 2nd Week (Aug. 8th, 2011)
WOW....I believe we all had a great start.  I have 3 great classes.  In health, this week we will start with what is health in comparison to wellness.  We will discuss the various kinds of health and the things that can affect them.  In 1st Responder class, we will start with the history of first aid and the various levels of health care from the EMR to the Paradmedic.  Remember to bring your class fees, come prepared to succeed.

3rd Week (Aug. 15th-2011)
Many Many students did well on last weeks Health and Intro. to 1st Responder test.  Great job. This week in Health we will start Nutrition.  We all love to eat so lets start eating things that will make us feel better.  We will cover all the Nutrients, importance of water, what is a balanced meal, importance of breakfast and many other interesting facts about food.  In Intro. to first responder, we will go into the legal and ethics of the treatment of patients.  We will cover the different kinds of conscent you need to start treatment.  If our equipment is in, we will start with taking bloody gloves off.  Of course we will use red paint.  Have a good week.

4th Week (Aug. 22nd-26th,)
Hope you had a great weekend.  This week in Intro. to 1st Responder, we will start Chapter 3. This chapter talks on death and dying, stress, body substances and  how we MUST avoid them.  In health, we will continue our coverage of nutrition with emphasis on  planning a healthy meals, how to order healthy in a restaurant, and table manners.  So, as you can see, we have some really cool stuff to tackle.  We will do fine.

5th Week (Aug. 29th-Sept. 2nd)
WOW, already in our 5th week, good bye August. This semester will fly by so lets keep up with those notes.
In health, we will go into the effects of Alcohol.  We will learn that alcohol just doesn't affect the drinker, it affects many others.  In Intro to 1st Responder, we will go into the various parts of the body like bones, muscles, etc.  Want a tip in making a great grade in my class, READ THOSE NOTES NIGHTLY.

6th Week (Sept. 6th-9th)
Hope you had a great Labor Day Weekend.  In Health we will continue our discussion of substance abuse and go from alcohol to drugs.  Yes, alcohol is a drug, but we will go into the other form of drugs such as cocaine, how it starts, the various treatments for it.  The biggest part we will discuss is the ability to say NO when it is offered to us.  In Intro. to First Responder, we will cover the various ways on how to move a victim is needed.  We should have a guest from the EMS to assist us.

7th week (Sept. 12-16th)
Hope that interim was what you wanted.  If so, congrats. and work hard to keep it.  If not, work harder.  You can do it!!!
In health, we will discuss the many ways of protecting our teeth and we will have a few dental  hygentists from Advanced Dental Care to come give us advice to perserve our pretty smiles.  In first responder, we will go into Airway issues leading up to CPR.  In that class, we will also have a guest from the Ambulance Service speaking on CPR.  Its going to be another interesting week in Soileau's class here at WFHS (walkers favorite high school) HA.

8th week (Sept. 19th-23rd)
Oh, this is going to be a great week, Pine Tree Festival on Friday--yes teachers like it too, HA.
In health, we will start our coverage of the eyes and ears.  We will learn the parts of them, various injuries, and treatments for them.  In intro to first responder, we will continue our lesson on Airway managment.  We will go more into CPR for the various age victims.  On Thursday, both classes will be special, State Trooper Russell Graham will be here to speak and answer questions about driving, laws, and mistakes we all make behind the wheel of the car.

Sept. 26th- 30th
Hope you enjoyed the fair and had a safe weekend.  This week in Intro. to 1st Responder we will venture into Patient Assessment (how to communicate with patients and how to determine what is wrong with them).  In health, we will be close to that issue, we will learn about safety around the home when it comes to tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, etc.
Should be another interesting week here in room 501 and at Walker Freshman High.

Oct. 3-6th
This is going to be a short week--no school Friday--Livingston Parish Fair.
In Health, we will discuss the issues on Cancer.  The various carcinogens (things that causes cancer), various treatments, and how others cope with it.
In 1st Responder, we will get into direct pressure on bleeding, hopefully we will have an ambulance come visit us, and do some more CPR, and other things needed to sustain life. This will be our last week together.  It has been a great class and they did learn alot.  These students will do well should they take the next level of 1st Responder at Walker High School.
On Wed. we will have a representative from LOPA, (organ donation).
On Thursday, we will have a presentation on Cyberbullying.
ANOTHER great week here at WFHS. 

Oct. 10th-13th
Hope you enjoyed your 3 day weekend and the fair.  We will enjoy another 3 day weekend.  I had to say good bye to a great 2nd hour Intro. to 1st Responder class and a Health class.  I expect my new classes to come to class and give it all like these 2 out going classes.  In Health (3rd hour), we will start with wellness and how it affects our daily lives.  In the new Intro. to 1st Responder (2nd hour) we will start with plenty of initials and exactly what is expected of 1st Responders at a scene.
In 4th hour, we will continue to cover Airways and how it applies to CPR.  No matter what class you are in, we will learn something new.

Oct. 17th-21st
WOW...what a great start with my 2 new classes (2nd & 3rd block).  I have some great individuals who want to learn and take steps to a successful school fall semester.  In health, we will study Nutrition and how it affects our bodies now and later.  In Intro to 1st responder, we will continue studying about our airways and how to treat such events.
On Thursday, what a treat for everybody, State Troopers will be back with a trauma nurse and will bring our the seminualator.  Its a mounted truck which spins and shows how seat belts really do save lives.

Oct. 24th-28th
OK, health class girls, we are getting close to our trip to St. Gabriels Womens Prison.  Keep those grades up and make sure you are debt free.  More information will come about the trip as we get closer to it.  In the class room, 1st Responders will get into more treatments like snake bits, insects bites, etc.  In health, we will venture into Substance Abuse (drugs and alcohol).  Plenty of videos and extras will be used to get the point across.  This will be just another week like the others so far..........GREAT!!!!

Oct. 31-Nov. 4th
Big week coming up.  In health, we will discuss the powerful of Drugs.  Why people start, the hard treatments to get off the stuff, the expenses of a horrible habit and many of issues of Drug Addiction. Also on Tuesday, our female students will take a field trip to the womens prison.  Ladies, hang on.  Its an eye opener.  In Intro. to 1st Responder....we will go into the issue of blood.  How its pump throughout the body, bleeding issues you many incounter, how to apply direct pressure and the techniques of bandages.  So it will be another good week.  Hope you have a fun safe Halloween......BOO!  Yea, you were scared. HA 

Nov. 7-11th
Time is flying by...keep up the hard work and before you know it, you will get that desired break.
In 2nd hour first responder, we will get into Chapter 5 which has to do with moving patients.  Should we move them, how to move them, where to move them, etc.  In Health, we will go into tobacco products.  We will study why people do it, the effects of the smoke, other damages associated with tobacco products.  Some to mention will be dental issues, personal hygiene (odor), etc.  In fourth block 1st Responder class.... we will continue chapter 10 (circulatory system) and then wonder into chapter 11, Caring for bone and muscle injuries.

Nov.14th-18th
WOW...Thanksgiving is upon us and so is 4 weeks left in the semester.  Lets kick in gear and study to the end.
In Health, we will start the week with a presentation from a few Dental Hygentist from Advanced Dental Care.  Then the rest of the week we will continue our care of dental  care and the history of Angola.  Wednesday's field trip to Angola has been cancelled.
In 2nd block Intro. to 1st Responder....we will go into Airway management and in 4th block 1st Responder we will go into care of Muscle and Bone care.
Again, we have 5, yes 5 more days till the break......no one slows up, lets push to the end.

Nov. 28th-Dec. 2nd
WELCOME BACK from Thanksgiving.  We are NOW in the stretch to the end of the semester.  In 2nd block 1st Responder we will be discussing assessment of the patients.  In health we will be discuss the different kinds of relationships )good and bad.  In 4th block 1st responder we will study about Geriatric Patients.

Dec. 5th 9th
Here we go, the last full week before the finals.  YOU  READY, YOU SURE?  Lets not take anything for granted. In Health, we will be dicussing the various kinds of relationships.  How they start, how to maintain them, the different kinds, etc.  In Second hour Intro to 1st respnder, we will have the school nurse in to speak on airway, CPR, and the use of the AED.  She will also speak to the health students.
And in the 4th hour 1st Responder class, we will talk on how to take care of the infant and child victim.  
On Friday, we may even start talking and reviewing for the finals.

Dec. 12-16th
Well here go, I believe everybody is in position to do well on the final.  We started last week and we will continue to test day.  In Health and Intro. to Health Occupations, we will address all the areas that will be on the exam.  Make sure to be in class because the review will be very beneficial to doing REAL well on the exam.  Its been a great 1st half of the school year and I have been blessed with some great students.  BUT it is not over until you pass my and all your test.  Good luck and Merry Christmas.

 

SECOND SEMESTER (SPRING 2013)

Welcome back. Hope your holidays was everything you wanted.  Now its time to get back to work but also make a great first impression with your new teachers.  This week we will be getting our books, reviewing class rules, and taking a little test just to see what you already know and don't know.  Then we will start with chapter one in both of my classes.

 

JAN. 14TH-18TH

GREAT 1st week. This week in health we will continue to discuss the difference between health and wellness. We will also venture into Life Skills and talk about health items that can be purchased.  In Intro to Health Occupations we will be discussing the components of the EMS system and the legal and ethical issues involved in the medical profession.

 

JAN. 22ND-25TH

Hope you had a great Human Relations Day.  In health, we will start discussing the ugly world of Substance Abuse--DRUGS.  We will learn why people start, processes to get off, but most importantly--why we shouldn't start it.

In Introduction to Health Occupations, we will start Chapter 3 which is about the Wellness of the Medical Responders at emergencies.  Should be another great week but DRY. HA

 

JAN. 28th-FEB. 1ST

Hope you had a great weekend.  This week in Health we will talk about the effects of alcohol. In Intro to Health Occupations, we will start on the anatomy of the body and medical terms.  Also, on Wednesday both classes will learn about 911 phone calls as we get a visit from a 911 Dispatcher.  So, get you questions ready for the one who

will call when we are involved or assisting one in need. 

 

FEB. 4TH-8TH

Last week was great as learned so much from our 911 Dispatacher.  This week we will (IHO) start Chapter 5 which is all about moving patients, and when we should or not move them.  In Health we will start on the nasty subject of Tobacco usuage.  Also this week, both classes will learn about Organ Donation.  The laws involved, what can be donated, who can donate and who can't.  Should be another great week at Walker Freshman High.

 

FEB. 18TH-22ND

In both classes we will here from the Louisiana State Police about seat belt safety, drinking and texting while driving, laws/rules to follow when pulled over, etc.  Also this week we will hear from a rep from Louisiana Auto Theft dept.  Here we will learn how to better protect our cars from theives.  Other days this week we will go into choking and cpr matters. YES....we will work with the manicans.

 

FEB. 25TH-MAR. 1ST

WOW.....what a great last week.  With all the information on CPR and Abdominal Thrust, from the State Troopers, Rep from Lousiana Auto Theft Department, we are all better prepared for the world.  This week will be no different, we will venture into Patient Assessment and in Health we will go into Emotions and how they can make us do things we don't want or seldom do.

 

MAR. 4TH-MAR 8TH

We have a great week ahead of us.  In Intro to Health Occupation, we will go into chapter 8 which is about Resuscitation and Use of the AED.  I know we have covered it in other chapters but we will dig deeper into it with some other cool information about when to use it like the patient has been in real cold water and other emergency settings.

In health, we will go into Emotions.  We will learn that our emotions can get us out of trouble and really get us in hotter water.  We will learn techniques on how to controll the various emotions which we all possess.

 

MAR. 11TH- 15TH

Last week was very special for the first hour IHO students as they had the chance to visit and see first hand what the Emergency Room and the ICU is all about.  We heard some life saving tips about automobiles, seat belts, texting, etc from the state police.  We also heard more about organ donations.  This week the 4th block class will get the same opportunity.  In health, we will start a unit on relationships.

 

MAR. 18TH-22ND

Well, 4th block IHO students got the chance to see some very smart and caring individuals on the Lady of the Lake Hospital field trip.  This week is our last week prior to the Easter Holidays.  In health, we will start a chapter which has affected many of the people in our lives.....Cancer.  We will study some of the factors that can cause cancer and the treatments associated with them.  In IHO, we will continue to pursue some first aid techniques like splints, wraps, bandaging, etc. Last work hard this week and have a great safe Easter Holidays.

 

APR. 1ST-5TH

Welcome back...hope you had a great holidays.  BUT...its over. Time to get back and track toward learning as much as we can.  This is the week where many take the field trip to Angola State Prison.  In health we will go in Weight management and how to live a healthy life.  In Intro to Health Occupations, we will continue the first aid techniques (cpr, slings, infant back thrust, head injuries, etc) and assessing patients for spine injuries.

 

APR. 8TH-12TH

THANKS TO ALL FOR BEING GOOD LAST WEEK AS I BROUGHT MY OLDER SISTER ON A MEDICAL RELATED TRIP.  This week in health, we will start to discuss issues in the world of Emergency Responding. Much of what was taught in the Intro to Health Occupations.  In that class, this week we will continue our care and responding to the infants and toddlers.  This week will end with a bang as we have our Annual Faculty/Student Basketball Game.  Students we are in the final stretch of this semester, so let's not ease up.  Let's get every possible point possible.

 

APRIL 22ND-26TH

4 more weeks and I plan on teaching alot...you with me?  I thought so.  In health, we will go into chapter 2 which deals with the legal issues when it comes to first aid.  In intro to health occupations, we will start with information which deals with crime scenes.  This week, first block will have the privelege of having some school nurses show how to take blook pressure.  Fourth block will get that information next week.

 

APRIL 29TH- MAY 3RD

NOT GOING TO SAY MUCH,  BUT.....3 AND A HALF WEEKS. SHOW ME AND ALL YOUR TEACHERS YOU CARE ABOUT THAT GRADE.  IN MY CLASSES, THERE IS STILL MUCH MORE WE CAN LEARN TO HELP OTHERS WHEN IT COMES TO INJURIES AND EMERGENCIES.

 

MAY 6TH-10TH

We are now in the 2 week stretch.  In Health, we will continue on learning about first aid, and in Health Occupations we will gradually go into another book and learn a little more about helping our

fellow man.  On Thursday, all classes will hear a presentation about ATV and water safety from a

Louisiana Wildlife Agent.






2nd week (Jan. 10th)
We got alot accomplished last week.  We all know the rules, expectations, and the belief we WILL do execellent this semester.  We have a representative coming from T.A.D.A.C. (Tang. Parish Alcohol Drug Assistance Councel).
She will be with us for 7 days covering everything from decision making skills, communication with self and others, and many other mental things we take for granted that will impact our lives forever.  Lets have a great week.

3rd week (Jan. 17th)
Hope you enjoyed your day off.  We will continue our coverage of decision making skills with our new friend, Mrs. Jenny.  So far we have covered why we make certain decisions which might be based on our ages, friends belief, family rules, etc.  Also, we covered and will review how the media tried to influences our decisions.  The big picture is that we must take a step back and evaluate the possible results of these decisions/actions.  There are some things that can be fixed and millions more that cannot.  Hope you have another GREAT  week at our GREAT SCHOOL.

Jan. 24, 2011
PE--We will finish up our Presidential Fittness Test for those who might have missed an event.  Then we will start with the fundamentals of BASKETBALL.  We will work on the lay-up, jump shots, rules of the game, and YES, we will divided into teams to form a league.  We will try to have some treats for the winners.
HEALTH--1st hour will continue with the T.A.D.A.C. program.  3rd block will start covering the various addictions affecting our society.  Included in this lesson is the steps of stress and how to cope with it.

Jan.31-Feb 4, 2011
Hope you had a safe, healthy and fun weekend.  Take care of yourselves, there is alot of flu symptoms running around.  Now that we have completed the T.A.D.A.C. program, we can now use that information in our upcoming chapters.  We will start with the topic ALCOHOL.  We will discuss how and where people get start using alcohol, consequences of DWI's, all those involved with alcohol, and how today's decisons will affect your future dreams/goals.  In Physical Education, we will start our SBA, (Soileau Basketball Association.......ha).  The teams are choosen, lets play and have fun. 

Feb. 7-11th, 2011
Hope everybody is healthy (I'm slowly getting back to normal) and enjoy their 2 almost frozen days off. HA
In Health, we will get back on track with Substance Abuse (Alcohol) and work our way to the issue of Drugs.
Wed. we will have a State Trooper come to speak to the class about the bad things that WILL happen if you drink and drive, ride with a impaired driver, using or possession of drugs, and the importance of wearing seat belts.
In PE., now that I am back we will start our basketball league.  We have some good times ahead with our Faculty/students basketball game, kiss the pig contest, and the selling of our Pizza Cards.  Lets continue making WFHS a school that  other people wish they attended.

Feb. 14-18th, 2011
Alright, we really hammered the consequences of Alcohol.  Now we are going after Tobacco.  We will study why people try it, why is it addictive, the laws behind tobacco products, hidden messages in advertisements of tobacco.  We will soon experience the effects of drunk goggles doing easy tasks like walking, pouring water in a glass, catching a underhand tossed ball.  In PE, we may start a new unit on Volleytennis. 

Feb. 21st-25th
This week will be another great week in Health.  This week we will start covering "the care of teeth" and we will hear from two dental hygienist.  They will come here with advice and tools that will insure we have our original teeth for life.
Also on Wed. we will have a State Trooper in class to answer any questions concerning the road, cars, texting, etc.
Like I said, it will be another great week in Health.
In PE., we will continue our Volleytennis Tournament.

Feb. 28th- Mar. 4th
Wow, last week was awesome.  The State Police and Dental Hygienist showed, introduced, told stories, about the REAL WORLD.  This week we will continue our path about living a good clean life.  We will use the drunk goggles and start learning about eye  and ear care.  In PE, we hope to be wrapping up our Volleytennis League and be in the Double Elimination Tourney.

Mar. 9th-11th
WOW...what a great Volleytennis League and Tournament.  The Jammers won the league and championship. They will receive their do-nut and drink party this week.  We will turn our attention to Flag Football.  We will again first, review the
fundamentals, rules, and sportsmanship of the game. We will divide the class into 2 teams (choosen by Coach Soileau)
LSU vs the Saints.  Rain can be a problem, when rain is an issue, we will turn to our gym and play some basketball.
In Health, we will turn to mental health, personality disorders, various additions. etc.

Mar. 14th-18th
In Health, we will cover Nutrition.  We will find out why we eat, the style of cooking which is best for you, why breakfast is so important when it comes to academics and your well being.  In PE, I hope to be outside and start covering the fundamentals which are necessary to succeed and to have fun in football.

Mar. 21st-25th
In PE, it would be nice to go outside and continue of play of football but that will depend on the condition of the field across the street.  If it is too wet, we will start indoor whiffle ball.  Last year the guys got into it.  In Health, hereeeee we go.  The long awaited field trip to Angola State Prison (Wed).  Monday & Tuesday we will review the rules of the prison for visitors, the history of the facility, various crimes of the inmates, their work schedules, and other interesting things that we here at WFHS don't want you to experience.  On Thursday, Mr Phinney our counselor will do a dating violence seminar and on Friday Lori Steele from the Organ Procument Agency will be with us to explain the procedures of Organ Donations.

Mar. 28th- Apr. 1
Wow, what a great last week.  A field trip to Angola Prison, Mr. Phinneys presentation on Dating Violence, and the information about Organ Donation was very interesting.  This week we will learn about CPR and have a presentation on Thursday from a rep. from a District 4 Firefighter.  In PE. we will take advantage of the weather and start Softball.
After learning the skills, we will divide into 4 teams and play a league.

Apr. 4th-8th
Here we go, 27 more days, "you can do it."  In Health, we will start pursuing more knowledge on FIRST AID.
We have some great videos on first aid.  We (the girls) are still going on the field trip to St. Gabriels Womens Prison (April 18th). This is information we will really appreciate when and if we ever get in a bad situation.  In Physical Education, we will continue with Volleyball and start our league play.  Winners may get PIZZA again.

Apr. 11th-15th
Time is flying, just a few more weeks till we get a break (Easter) then we are in the final stretch.
 In Health, we will cover everything from being a paramedic to caner to allegens.  In PE, we will participate in the first ever Goofy Olympics.  This should be very competivtive and fun.

April 18th-21st
Here we geaux (HA), 4 more days till be get our Easter Break.  In health (Monday) the females will take their field trip to St. Gabriels Womens Prison.  Then we will start our coverage of the different kinds of relationships. In PE, we just completed our Olympics and now if weather permitting, we will continue our softball skills.  A day or two will be used to introduce Pickleball

May 2nd-6th
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Easter Holiday.  We have 3, yes 3 weeks of school left.  Lets continue our positive attitude and work habits.  In Health, we will cover something that is very common in
all our lives---CANCER.  It will affect our lives one way or another.  We will learn the different kinds of cancer, some of the things that causes it, the various forms of treatment.  In PE, we will try to beat the
heat by doing many things inside the gym while sharing it with the girls.  We will start off by having a free throw shooting tournament.  We will try to find some time learning how to play Pickleball.  BUT, we 
will have fun.  Welcome back for another 3 great weeks of school.

May 9th-13th
We are going to do it!! Everybody is going the distance with their effort and desire to do well to end this great year.
In health, we will study cancer, the effects of it, and ways that we can avoid certain kinds of cancer.  We will also learn some of the major bones in the body.  At the end of the week, we will start talking finals.  In PE, we had some very interesting basket ball skill tournaments.  We will continue some of those skill test.



 















Week of August 16th,
WOW....what a great 1st week.  My classes came ready mentally and physically to get ready for a great school year and future  Much was accomplished.  This week we have a representative from T.A.D.A.C. (tang. parish alcohol and drug councel).  She has some great tips for making good decisions.  Lets repeat last week by having NO tardies, NO abscenses, and do the best we can on all quizes and tips.

Week of August 23rd.
Last week with the T.A.D.A.C  representative went great.  We learned about decision making skills and how to better communicate.  This week we will jump into NUTRITION.  We truly are what we eat.
We will visit the library where we will compare the nutritional value of various foods from different restaurants

Week of August 30th.
This week we will continue pursuing more information about nutrition.  Last week we learned about the 6 nutrients and what they do for our bodies.  This week we will discuss other food topics as table manners, food pyramid, the different kinds of vegetarians, and which foods may act as a anti-carcinogen (prevents cancer).  Interims are just around the corner, lets work for every point possible.

Week of Sept. 6th, 
The interims are out.  Some grades were good and some was bad.  The bad ones had alot to do with not having your notes on notebook checks.  Without notes, how can  you study?  This week, many more students had their project (plate with food groups on it) and did real well on the test Friday.  Those grades will go UP.  
This week we will start First Aid.  Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend.

Week of Sept. 13th.
The start of the second interim looks great for many of my students, are you one of the them?
This week we will start on Tobacco.  Why people start, how to avoid starting, how to quit and much more information about this deadly ugly habit. 

Week of Sept. 20th,
This week we will continue to cover BAD HABITS like we did last week.  This time we will attack Alcohol.  There are many false statements and beliefs about it.  We will use plenty of videos and brochures to prove them wrong.  It will be another great week here at WFHS and in Coach Soileau's class.  Many grades are going up, keep it going.

Week of Sept. 27th
Wow, it was a tough one last week.  We attacked the idea about drinking alchol, the laws, consequences, and other  negatives associated with alcohol.  This week we will discuss drugs, the ways people get started, etc.
So hang on and lets REMAIN DRUG FREE!!!!!

Week of Oct. 4th,
WOW, we have tackled alot of issues on substance abuse. Everything from tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
We used our books, guest speakers, videos, the newspaper, local TV stations stories, and now here comes the big one.
 Weather permitting and if all the needed equipment arrives, we will drive golf carts on the grass across from the school, through a designated course using highway cones while wearning Drunk Goggles.  We will see how good a driver you are without them and then retest you wearing the goggles.  WE HAVE TO TAKE A STAND TO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.

Week of Oct. 11th
Well we did it.  For the past to weeks, we used guest speakers, videos, others stories, drunk goggles, golf carts, and our text books to stop the stupid idea of hurting our bodies, reputations, property, and many others when it comes to drugs/alcohol.  This upcoming week, we will be discussing RELATIONSHIPS and the many things that can affect it.
But first, have a fun Livingston Parish Fair Holiday, be safe, and I'll see you on Monday for another great week here at Walker Freshman High School

Last week was another great week.  We covered the subject of  relationships, how to build them and the various kinds you will have in  your lifetime.  Hope you enjoy last Friday off.  This coming week we will start covering things like the past, things that we have total controll of......taking care of our teeth, eyes, ears, etc.
To assist us in our knowledge that we are seeking in these matters, I have Dental Hygientists coming in on Monday to talk about mouth and teeth care.

Week of Oct. 22nd
Great last week with Dental Hygientists and the speaker from the Louisiana Auto Theft Prevention Program.
This week, we will start our coverage of life of prisoners, especially at Angole State Prison.  We will take our field trip to Angola on Nov. 3rd. 

Week of Nov. 1st
Hope you had a good weekend.  We have ANOTHER  great week planned for you in Health.  Monday we will make final preparations for our trip to Angola on Wednesday.  Tuesday is Election day....Parents get out and vote. Thursday we will bring in a 911 Dispatcher to teach us how to make a 911 phone call, which departments of emergency is contacted, what information they need, the laws involved in making a false 911 call, background needed if you would like to pursue this career.

Week of Nov. 8th,
What a great (last week) week.  I hope you learned alot about consequences from the Angola and Train Enginner presentations.  This week, we will learn about CPR.  Yes, we will have a manican on hand and a certrified EMT to make the presentation.  Lets keep learning.

Week of Nov. 15,
We learned about CPR and the manicans brought in really made it look real.  Now we turn our attention to natural disasters and first aid.  4 weeks left in the semester, many and probably you have made great progress.  DON'T STOP NOW!!!  We will also cover the Safe Haven Laws and information about Teenagers, Sex, and the Internet.

Week of Dec. 6th
HERE WE GO.....this is the last week before the finals.  Last week was powerful as our girls heard some words from those who failed at some things at life and another who took advantages of opportunities.  Wed. we heard from inmates from the female prison and we heard from a national known cook book artistist, Holly Clegg.  We will cover first aid this week and then start our preparation for our finals. HERE WE GO.....
