This is my 13th year teaching middle school students. Prior to coming to Oak View, I worked at Westwood Middle School and Lake Butler Middle School. I have taught ESE classes in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I also have extensive experience with the Read 180 program.

General Information About My Class:
Weekly Reading Homework!
This year, your child is required to complete 100 minutes of outside reading each week for my class. To download the Book Boxes I require for home reading, click here. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions regarding the reading requirements.
This week in my classroom:
(2/8-2/11)
This week in Reading, we will be working on determining the Author's Purpose and Internal Conflict in a narrative essay. We will also be taking FL Writes! (8th graders) and Panther Writes (6th and 7th graders) tests on Tuesday. It may be a good idea to review your notes on Introductory paragraphs and Support, Organization, Focus, and Conventions prior to the test.
Because of our shortened week and our long weekend, our folder check and home reading logs will be due on Tuesday, February 16th.
Cold and flu season is upon us. I am out of hand sanitizer, paper towels, and tissues in my classroom. If you are a student who is looking to earn some extra credit, bringing any of these items in can earn you up to 5 extra credit points toward your grade.
