6th & 7th Grade Cycles
For the remainder of the year, PE grades will be assessed every 2 weeks focusing on 2 categories: Class preparation & Teacher Defined. Students will have the opportunity to earn 110 points with a total possible points earned in a cycle worth 330 points.
Every student will start with a grade of an S (Satisfactory). Teacher Defined (effort/participation, sportsmanship, following directions & skill level) will be worth 20 points every 2 weeks. Each student will start with 5 points in this category with the opportunity to achieve a higher grade (S+ or O) by demonstrating desirable behaviors as stated on the grading rubric. (Please see the link on my website for the criteria).
Class preparation (changing for PE) will be worth 90 points every 2 weeks. Each time a student is unprepared they will lose 25 points. Three times of being unprepared will result in the student earning a U (Unsatisfactory) for the cycle. The student will have the opportunity to earn points back by demonstrating desirable behaviors in class.
