Safety checks on the use of the harness

buckles are locked when there is no red showing and it forms a C for closed not O for open

Only two fingers should fit in the waist of the harness.

The carrabiner is in on correctly when it is locked by turning it down--and squeeze checked

DO NOT turn the barrel of the carabiner down too tight-finger tighten

There should be nothing in pockets when climbing--

No dangling earrings or facial piercings that may get caught on the rope

Shake your head to answer "do you like ice-cream?" to see if the helmet is not tight

Do not step on the ropes, keep hands off the rope when you are belaying

--hips face the climber when you are on belay
