Hello! I am so excited to teach second grade. Your child will continue learning  skills to become a better reader. Fluency and comprehension are very important skills to develop for reading. Please make sure your child is reading for pleasure for a minimum of 15 minutes at home each day.    
     Math will be a time for your child to explore problem solving methods, become fluent with basic math facts, and acquire new vocabulary. We use manipulatives to aide in this process.   
      Reading, math, and spelling homework will be assigned. Graded paper folders will be sent home on Monday. Please remove the papers, sign the folder, and have your child return it on Tuesday morning. Remember to send your child to school well rested and on time every day. I am looking forward to a fun filled year!
