Dear Friends,

          Welcome to first grade!  I am thrilled about having you in my class this year.  I know that we are going to have a wonderful year together!

          I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation.  I am looking forward to hearing about all of the exciting things you have done.  Please bring along some favorite summer photos on the first day so that we can share our memories together. I have had an amazing summer visiting friends and sharing good times with my family.  I have read so many wonderful books this summer and I am looking forward to sharing them with you.

          I hope you are just as excited as I am because first grade has some very special surprises in store for you.  We will be reading many fantastic books, writing stories and poems, and playing some fun math games.  We will be participating in many interesting and exciting activities.

          You will have some important responsibilities to take care of before our first day together.  You will need a backpack and a lunchbox along with the items listed below. Be sure to label each item with your name.   You will also need to bring a healthy snack to help you stay fresh and alert throughout the day.

          I am looking forward to meeting you.  Be sure to bring your smiling face to room 107 located on Trustworthy Trail Hallway for our Open House on Tuesday, September 4^th  from 2-3. We will start our year of fun and learning on Thursday, September 6^th for the first day of school.
